□ Choi Seung Dae was inaugurated as the 8th CEO of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation. 

□ CEO Choi Seung Dae had the inauguration ceremony at the auditorium of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation´s Head office in the morning of the 9th, and revealed that “Creative and innovation management, consumer-based management, sustainable growth management, social contribution management will be realized by Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation to achieve core values called “Generating happy residence culture for provincial citizens.” 

○ CEO Choi Seung Dae continued to emphasize that “The Corporation, with a vision to become an ´Integrated Service Institute for cities´ will successfully pursue the 5 major businesses in the current issues: Gwanggyo New City, Namyangju Dasan City, Dongtan2 New City, Pyeongtaek Godeok Industrial Complex, Yellow Sea Poseung Industrial complex and so on” and that “furthermore, the participation of next generation´s new growth power businesses will be extended and by reducing liability ratio, financial stability will be secured.” 

□ The newly inaugurated CEO, Choi Seung Dae graduated from the Yonsei University College of Civil Engineering and Seoul National University Graduate School of Environment, and after passing the Technique Examination, entered the public office starting from the Domestic Office of Gyeonggi Province. He widely undergone the positions as manager of urban planning, director of construction headquarters, director of bureau of construction and transportation, deputy-major of Paju City‧Hwaseong City‧Yongin City‧Ansan City‧Namyangju City as well as the governor of administration 2 department of Gyeonggi Province.

– 3.95million ㎡, 2.4 times the Samsung Electronics Suwon Plant…  
   Biggest size among production lines in Korea and overseas 
– Total of 2.2277 trillion won of business expenses invested…72,000

□ The construction of Samsung Electronics´ biggest industrial complex in Peongtaek, Gyeonggi-do has spaded the soil.   
 o Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation hosted the ground breaking ceremony of Pyeongtaek Godeok Samsung Electronics Industrial Complex on the 14th with the Governor of Gyeonggi-do, Kim Mun Su, CEO of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation, Lee Jae Young, the vice president of Samsung electronics, the mayor of Pyeongtaek City, and over 800 regional citizens.   
 o Pyeongtaek Godeok Samsung Electronics Industrial Complex which is being constructed on the 3.95 million ㎡ site of the entire Godeok-myeon‧ Jije-dong of Pyeongtaek City is 2.4 times the size of the current Samsung Electronics´ Suwon Plant, being the biggest size ever among the production lines in Korea and overseas, and is expected to be completed in December 2015. 
 
□ The construction work of Pyeongtaek Godeok Samsung Electronics Industrial Complex, which involves the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation investing the business expenses and Pyeongtaek City providing adminstration support, consists of 969.6 billion won of land cost, 922.8 billion won of construction costs and so on, amounting to a total cost of 2.2277 trillion won. Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation has invested in 894.2 billion won until last year, and invested in 70.9 billion won this year to proceed with compensation‧construction and various infrastructure works. 
 o Lee Jae Young, the CEO of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation said, “With the construction of this industrial complex, over 72,000 employment opportunities will be generated, and furthermore, positive effects are expected to occur in not only the regional economy of Pyeongtaek, but also Gyeonggi-do, as well as the national economy,” and that “Based on the know-how of having created various industrial complexes within the province such as Paju LCG Industrial Complex, our Corporation will provide various supports and investments such as actively reflecting the investment plan of Samsung Electronics for the smooth completion of the industrial complex.”
 
□ Once the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation completes the construction of the industrial complex by December 2015, Samsung Electronics will progressively start moving into the production facilities from the year 2016, and is planning to invest more than 100 trillion won, the biggest investment in the domestic and foreign production lines ever, and the production induced effect expected to be derived from such is 189 trillion won, with the estimated employment opportunities for 127,000 people.

The 8th Public Organization Landscaping Technology Seminar….
 
Presents the plans to build new city urban parks using existing reservoirs. 
  
 
 Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation (President Jae Young Lee) participated in the 8th Public Organization Landscaping Technology Seminar, which was held at COEX Conference Room on the 24th as a part of the Korea Landscaping Expo, and shared the landscaping projects and technological trends of Korea´s major public corporations. 
 
Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation presented ´Plans to Build New City Urban Parks Using Existing Reservoirs´ with emphasis on its leading Gwanggyo New City Lake Park and Dongtan 2 New City Waterfront. It was about using the existing reservoirs to build urban parks for the sustainability of urban life and the presentation was delivered by Chief Jung Shin Yoon of Landscaping Team, Office of Business Support. 
 
“We have made efforts to convert the existing reservoirs into urban parks, the natural and cultural growth centers where water, ecology, and people coexist for Gwanggyo New City Lake Park and Dongtan 2 New City Waterfront,” said Chief Jung Shin Yoon during the presentation. “As the specific measure, we have proposed various techniques, including the waterfront vegetation that preserve the original topography and function, and the bridge-type traffic to minimize damage by human activities.” 
 
The landscaping technology seminar for public organizations was held to gather the major public organizations of Korea to explore the future of Korea´s landscaping industry. It is hosted by Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation, LH Corporation, Korea Water Resources Corporation, Korea Expressway Corporation, and Incheon Development &Tourism Corporation in turn. 
 
“We will be hosting the landscaping technology seminar for public organizations in 2014,” said Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation. “We will make the seminar a more meaningful and fruitful place to explore the new development possibilities of the landscaping industry.”
