Namyangju Dasan City Block B2/B4 to enter into agreement for joint project with civil participation
– Namyangju Dasan City’s 2,800 units to start sales in March 2015, total of 30,000 units to be supplied
Namyangju Dasan City is expected to begin sales of 2,800 units in March 2015 and total of 30,000 units of households will be supplied in the future.
For this, Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation entered into an agreement on the 8thwith Lotte Construction (Block B2) and Daerim Industry (Block B4) as a joint project for public housing sales with regards to Dasan Jingeon District’s Block B2/B4.
With this agreement in place, the basic and execution plan will be completed and with the approval of the Housing Construction Business Plan within this year, the construction and sales are expected to commence in March 2015. Moving in is expected to take place in the end of 2017.
Block B2/B4 is a commercial region within Dasan Jingeon District with elementary, middle and high school in the vicinity. It is in a walking distance with Byeolnae Line subway station which is foreseen to be construction in the future. Block B2 accommodates 1,186 units whereas Block B4 has 1,615 units and the two blocks are comprised of 60∼85㎡.
The joint project with civil participation is one of the business diversification measures proposed by Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation and involves the corporation being responsible for procuring land and sales while the civil corporate is responsible for the construction of housing units. It has already been applied in Block A2-11 and Block A2-2 within Wirye New City followed by Namyangju Dasan City.
Namyangju Dasan City is a total brand city that includes Dasan Jingeon District and Dasan Jigeum District and the scale of this project executed independently by Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation is equivalent to a new city that is taking place after Gwanggyo New City. Dasan City is comprised of total area of 4.75 million ㎡ in the area of Jigeum-dong and Donong-dong and is able to accommodate approximately 85,000 people with over 30,000 households.
In the project agreement ceremony held on the 8th in the conference room, 6th floor of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation, 10 people including Lee Nam Jae, the director of the head of housing and welfare of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation, Mun Jeong Dong, the director of Daerim Industry and Yun Hae Sik, the director of Lotte Construction participated. |

Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation revealed that Choi Geum Shik, the new CEO will begin his official work on the 16th. His term is 3 years.
Choi Geum Shik, the new CEO was confirmed as the candidate as the CEO for Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation on the 29th last month and after 2 hearings at the Gyeonggi Province Council on the 4th and 11th, he was officially appointed as the CEO of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation on the 16th.
Choi Geum Shik, the new CEO was born in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk and graduated civil engineering at the Seoul University. In 1980, he entered Korea Land & Housing Corporation (former Korea Land Corporation) and held positions as Director for Management Support and Director for Housing Site Projects.
From 2011 to August this year, he acted as an non-executive director for Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation and has been evaluated as a well-qualified person in resolving the current issues of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation.
The new CEO, Choi Geum Shik is expected to reveal his aspirations to the employees in the inauguration ceremony, stating that “Based on the experience in LH Corporation and civil companies, Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation will harmonize the public roles and the corporate aspects in order to become the best public enterprise that is loved by the provincial citizens.”

The sales agreement for Power Center site in the vicinity of Gwanggyo New City’s Lake Park is expected to be signed.
Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation revealed that it has entered into a sales agreement with Daesang Industry Co. Ltd on the 22nd for Block C4 (29,816㎡, 686 units) in the complex site within the land of Power Center in Gwanggyo New City. The sales price was 157.7 billion Won.
Power Center is comprised of 117,000㎡ in total, including the commercial lot (1 block, 41,130㎡) located between the southern part of Gwanggyo New City’s Lake Park and along the National Road No. 42 as well as a multi-complex area (2 blocks, 76,377㎡) and it is a complex that houses culture, distribution and office work.
With this, Block C3 was sold to Neo Value Investment Limited at 242 billion Won on the 11th, followed by the agreement of Block C4. Thus, 2 multi-complex area within Power Center has all been sold.
The agreement for the commercial site (Ilsang 3) is expected to take place with STS Development which is a party subject to priority negotiation on the 30th next month and with this, Gwanggyo New City’s Power Center is expected to gain momentum in its development as a culture, distribution and office work multi-complex area.
Block C3 (987 units) and Block C4 (686 units) are expected to begin construction and sales in the first half of next year.

Acclaimed for the exquisite harmony between memories, people and nature in urban center
Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation announced on the 10th that the 「Lakeside Park of Gwanggyo City」 had been selected as the most outstanding landscape in the “Landscape Competition of Korea in 2014” organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure & Transport.
The “Landscape Competition of Korea in 2014”, which is in its 4th year, is an event aimed at propagating landscape culture through promoting outstanding landscape plans and cases of landscape projects of local autonomous governments, and improving the dignity of the national landscape by means of positive competition between regions of Korea.
Approximately 50 landscapes were submitted for competition this year and the Lakeside Park of Gwanggyo Citydeveloped and established by the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation received the honor of the overall winner.
Foremost specialists at home and abroad participated in the international design competition for the establishment of the Lakeside Park of Gwanggyo City.
Woncheon and Shindae Reservoir, established in 1920 for the purpose of securing water for agricultural use, was revived into separate and differentiated lakes, namely, the Woncheon Lake with people-centered dynamic, urban and active characteristics and the Shindae Lake with natural ecology-centered romantic and ecological characteristics.
Facilities within the park include waterside promenade with total distance of 1.6km(Urban Levy), a diverse range of water fountains such as Mulneomi, family camping ground and open theater. Moreover, designed lighting for the night landscape, which has been specialized for each of the areas, is harmonized with the nature, and is rapidly becoming another highly sought after attraction of this waterside park.
Park, Seong Gwon, the director of the urban development division of the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation, stated that, “the winning of the grand prize in the Landscape Competition in Korea has provided us an opportunity to continuously advance our differentiated urban design strategy and know-how in establishing highly dignified parks.”
