Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation awarded Grand Prize in the “5th Annual Green Roof Systems Awards”

□ The Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation (President Seung Dae Choi) received the Ministry of Environment’s Award in the “5th Annual Green Roof Systems Awards” hosted by the  Korea Green Roof & Infrastructure Association on September 27.

○ The “Annual Green Roof Systems Awards” have been hosted by the  Korea Green Roof & Infrastructure Association since 2010 to promote the research, development and proliferation of core technologies for the advancement of green roof and infrastructure technologies. Winners of the event, supported by the Seoul City Government and Ministry of Environment, are meticulously chosen by academic and industry experts based on document reviews and site surveys.

□ The corporation’s candidate, the Gimpo Hangang City Nature & Hillstate Apartments, was awarded the Grand Prize in recognition of its efforts to create a pleasant and natural residential complex with green roofs, wall surfaces and green space equal to three football fields. Hyundai Construction, in charge of construction of the premises, as well as landscaping contractors and other subcontractors participating in the creation of the complex, shared in the honors.

□ The director of the Housing Business Division of the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation promised the corporation would “continue to take the lead in creating a new trademark residential culture for Gyeonggi-do, with aggressive investment in landscaping and greening for future development projects.”

□ The awards ceremony was held at 3 p.m. on September 27, with the participation of the awardees as well as key personnel from the relevant government agencies and corporations.
