On the 29th day in last month, Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation (the “Corporation”) conducted a signboard hanging ceremony, where public figures including Gyeongpill Nahm, the governor of Gyeonggi-do, and Deukgoo Kang, the chairman of Gyeonggi-do Provincial Assembly, Phillwoon Lee, the mayor of Anyang city, Geumsik Choi, the president of Corporation and Chaehoh Ihm, member of provincial assembly participated, for “Ddabok Hope Village No.1”, which has been constructed in front of Manahn Police Office located in Anyang-dong, Anyang-si,  and commenced full scale move in.  

“Ddabok Hope Village No.1”, as the first outcome of housing welfare model customized to Gyeonggi-do, is a kind of one-room typed rental housing which is to be supplied in a price of  60~70% of market price of surrounding neighborhood for college students and people starting out in their career.

“Ddabok Hope Village No.1” consists of 24 households of one-room typed and 4th floor building (12 households of 19.86㎡, 20.79㎡, respective) and is to be leased for 3.6 million won of security deposit and: 270,000 won of monthly rent for college students and; 290,000 won for people starting out in their career. TV, refrigerator, laundry machine and air conditioner are supplied and, if desired, beds may be provided.

In addition, convenient facilities are provided in each floor so as to be available to common use for the entire households: study room in the 2nd floor is a place for reading and studying which are equipped with various books ; restroom in the 3rd floor; and sports room in the 4th floor is equipped with treadmills and other sporting goods for exercise of muscle.

The reason why the rent of “Ddabok Hope Village No.1” is so cheap is because the land owned by local government (Do) can be used for 30 years free of charge. The Corporation constructed the housing building in a way of gratuitous donation, operated as a way of promoting housing welfare projects so that the rent can be determined in a price lower than construction cost.

Geumsik Choi, the president of Corporation, announced that “Ddabok Hope Village No.1″ is the ” first outcome of housing welfare model customized to Gyeonggi-do which is currently carried out by the Corporation” and the Corporation has a plan to continue to supply “Ddabok Love Village” for newlyweds wed and “Ddabok Health Village” for seniors and the disabled as well as Ddabok Hope Village Nos. 2, 3 and 4 . 

In around the end of August when summer vacation will end and all the household will move in, it is planned that Gyeonggi-do and the Corporation will hold a meeting with residents, develop and support for the programs for promotion of “Ddabok community”.
