Camping used to feel like something remote and difficult, but now it has become a familiar activity almost like a day out on the weekends.
Whether you go to the mountains or the river, there are plenty of campsites across Gyeonggi Province waiting to welcome you!
There are a lot of great campsites in Gyeonggi Province. Among all these places, which are the most popular?
To answer that question, Gyeonggi Province conducted a survey from August 24 to September 22 about 32 public campsites operated by Gyeonggi Province.
According to the survey, the top campsite was Jarasum Campground in Gapyeong, raking in 16.7% of all votes!
Saneum Natural Recreation Forest in Yangpyeong came in second with 10.9% of the votes, followed by Chungnyeongsan Natural Recreation Forest in Namyangju (7.6%), Yongin Natural Recreation Forest in Yongin (6.8%), and Gwanggyo Lake Park Family Campsite in Suwon (6.7%).

In terms of size and facilities, the Jarasum Auto Campground in Gapyeong is a popular destination for camping enthusiasts. In particular, it’s a great place for family and friends thanks to various festivals and tourist attractions available near the campsite.

Surrounded by towering peaks, Saneum Natural Recreation Forest attracts numerous hikers and sleep-over guests. It’s very popular because you can take a leisurely break in the bosom of nature. You can also check out nearby attractions including Yongmunsa Temple, Jungwon Valley, and Dumulmeori!

A popular destination among metropolitan residents thanks to its proximity, Yongin Natural Recreation Forest features a variety of features including a 145m-long canal made by diverting water through the forest. It also has multiple activities for different cultural and leisure experiences including an eco-adventure program, zip line, wood culture experience hall, and a toddler forest experience hall.
