Hwigyeongwon is the grave of Subin Pak(1555~1613), who was a member of the harem of the King, and a mother of King Sunjo who is the 23d king of the Josun dynasty.

Her family origin is Bannam and her father is Ju-won Pak.

She was selected as a member of harem of King Jeongjo in 1787(the 11th year of King Jeongjo period).

She could be officialy confered with a title and live Gisungung right after she produced a princess, Sukseon. She is known as a person who observes the proprieties and who is very frugal.

She was dead in Bogyeongdang of Changdeok Palace on december of the 22nd year of the King Sunjo period.

The grave was located at mount Baebong outside of the East Gate and called Hwigyeongwon at first. But it was moved to the back of Sungangwon in 1855(the 6th year of the King Cheoljong period). And Finally, it was removed to the current place in 1863.

Her tablet is located in Gyeongugung of Cheolgung which has ancestral tablets of seven members of the Harem who were the mothers of kings(it is in jungjeongdo, Jongno-Gu, Seoul).

At the site, we can find a Gokjang around the graveyard, a Bongbun(a mound) and stone figures. There are 24 stones called Sadaeseok around the mound, and beautifully detailed Stone Tiger Statues(Seokho) and Stone Sheep Statues(Yangseok). A stone table, a pair of stone posts, and a stone lamp in front of the mound and Statues of ministers are left and right side of the grave. At the bottom of the graveyard, we can see Sindo ( a paved road ) when we see the grave at the Hongsalmun ( a red gate with spiked top ), and face a Jeongjagak ( bower ). Eosujeong is on the left side and Neungpyogak is on the right side. Neungpyo has octagon shaped Okgaeseok.
