The mountain has rugged and magnificent terrain with thick forests changing their color from season to season, which together with numerous ravines make up a superb view. Each of the 3 major peaks of the mountain (Baekundae, Insubong and Mangyeongdae) is positioned at the vertex of a huge triangle. From Baekundae or the summit of the mountain, you can view peaks rising through the sea of clouds. This is one of the 8 most magnificent views of Goyang. Marvelous peaks shaped through ages including Insubong, Nojeokbong, Bohyeonbong, Bibong and Munsubong are popular among rock climbers. These peaks and ravines are inhabited by about 10,300 species of animals and plants. The mountain is also the home to a lot of antique temples such as Muryangsa, Nojeoksa, Sangunsa, Taegosa, Guknyeongsa, Deokamsa and many other cultural heritages. The mountain is a sort of a lung much needed by the densely populated metropolitan area and loved most by citizens among all the other national parks of Korea.
