The Good Morning House of Gyeonggi Province is set to relaunch its family weekend picnic programs this spring.

On April 2, Gyeonggi Province announced that it would hold various family weekend picnic programs including a flea market, art market, handcrafting experiences, tea ceremony classes, and food trucks on Saturdays (1:00PM to 5:00PM) from April 14 to the end of May at the Good Morning House.

The building was remodeled from the official residence of the Governor of Gyeonggi Province in Hwaseo-dong, Paldal-gu, Suwon City, near the provincial government complex, and opened to the public in April of 2016. It has been favored as a weekend outing destination by the public ever since.

According to Gyeonggi Province, last year’s diverse range of programs – including weekend programs, brunch performances, and educational programs for children – attracted over 110 thousand visitors to the Good Morning House, which is why the province has decided to offer a wider range of programs this year.

Among the programs, the most popular is the flea market in which families can participate together and children can have meaningful experiences exchanging or selling items that they no longer use. Many visitors have already applied for the event. To submit your application, visit the Good Morning House website (goodmorning-house.com).

The Brunch Concert for Cultural Healing Experience is also attracting many guests. The concert will be held a total of 60 times this year, providing an opportunity to enjoy superior performances of classical music, jazz, and Korean traditional music at the Good Morning Café. Brunch boxes are also available for purchase, prepared with hot waffles, coffee, and fruit.

Additionally, every Wednesday there are programs for children such as yoga for growing taller and art book making, and every Friday programs are held for adults including calligraphy and flower holder making. Participants can read books in selected genres and get together to share their impressions at the Good Morning Book Club, which convenes in the evening on the last Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each month.

The Nuguna Gallery of the Good Morning House will hold the Life Photo Exhibition for the Millennial Anniversary of Gyeonggi Province in commemoration of the second anniversary of the facility’s opening. The exhibition, rather than displaying completed photo works, involves visitors taking pictures by themselves to record moments of their lives. Every visitor can create their own photo album at the Nuguna Gallery Studio, created with various themes such as the symbols of Gyeonggi Province (provincial flower, bird, and so on), the colors of the province, and wedding and birthday parties. Each booth is equipped with professional cameras and lighting to help visitors take high-quality pictures that can be cherished for a lifetime.

The exhibition opens April 12 and continues through the end of June.
