Gyeonggi Province is hosting the 2020 Gyeonggi-Central Asia Medical Industry Online Business Meeting from December 9 to 11 to support exports by the Korean medical industry to Central Asian countries including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

During the event, 29 businesses specializing in medical devices and consumables from Gyeonggi Province, including the cities of Gunpo, Suwon, Bucheon, Seongnam and Goyang, will participate along with over 30 medical businesses from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Considering present COVID-19 conditions, including limited business travel and Level 2.5 social distancing, companies from Gyeonggi Province will primarily attend meetings on an individual basis. A limited number of companies that are unable to consult online from their premises will be provided with onsite space within quarantine booths for online consultations with overseas buyers.

The main Korean products featured at the event include COVID-19 test kits, digital radiography devices, and more. Companies will discuss matters pertaining to products and purchase contracts with potential buyers interested in importing Korean medical products.

Choi Young-seong, Director for Health and Medical Treatment of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, said, “We hope that this event will help the medical businesses of Gyeonggi Province that are experiencing economic difficulties amid the COVID-19 crisis, and also function as an opportunity for Gyeonggi Province to increase export volume along with the promotion of the K-medical industry.”
