For 13 days, from July 21 to August 2, Gyeonggi-do will strictly control food corners of multi-complex facilities and food industries and markets where food products easily get decomposed.

Personnel from the province and districts and also from the Korea Food & Drug Administration will conduct joint supervision to secure safety of food products and prevent mass food poisoning.

Subjects for supervision are industries related with the production and marketing of food products which easily decomposes during the summer heat – fish and meat, noodles (naengmyeon), beverages, ice cream and so on. Supervision will cover 90 lunch box businesses, 56 fish and meat businesses, 159 noodles businesses, 112 beverage industries and 14 ice cream businesses, totaling 431 businesses.

Kitchens and marketing places located in multi-complex facilities on highways and beaches are also included as subjects for supervision.

Among the many inspection items, usage of hazardous products or of illegal chemicals, adequateness of chemical standards, storage, food additives and other inspections to confirm how products are made, stored, distributed and all.

Through this joint supervision, quick transactions on supervising inappropriate businesses and products will be reinforced and also insignificant violations will be taken care of in advance.
