Secretary Janggoryeo and about 10 delegates from Shandong, the largest region in China where Korean enterprises has moved into, has made a formal visit to Gyeonggi-do by an invitation from the Gyeonggi-do governor Hak-kyu Sohn to promote an active interchange cooperation between the two regions.
After starting post for Shandong in February of this year, this is Jang’s first foreign visit. Through this visit, Jang will confirm the moral formed between the two regions ever since the friendship cooperation agreement was concluded in April 2000. Secretary Jang will conclude a memorandum of promoting interchange between the two regions with governor Sohn and will also attend a presentation on support measurements for minor enterprises in Gyeonggi-do.
The memorandum concluded during visit contains the understanding of both regions of economical and commercial cooperation and has agreed to establish a mutual system for market cultivation activities and investment inducement through joint exhibition fairs and consultations. To launch a joint research in high-tech industry and science technology fields, the Gyeonggi Research Institute and the Shandong Social Science Institute.
In addition, a regular line between Pyeongtaek Port and ports in Shandong will be established and various information in culture, physical training, education and other fields, will be exchanged. Also a system for dispatching local government official and a short-term training system for officials will be promoted.
