Commissioner of the National Tax Service, Yong-sup Lee delivered a speech on “National tax administration management for Foreign Enterprises” during the luncheon meeting at the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) on Dec. 10.

The commissioner announced that the administration of national tax would be reformed to be consistent and predictable, to relieve foreign investors and also foreign enterprises from the complex tax matters and for them to concentrate on business only.

Starting next year, bottlenecks and suggestions of policies on foreign taxpayers will be collected from a “Foreign Taxpayer Advocate Service” corner that will be established on the official English homepage of the National Tax Service. And also, other suggestions from foreign enterprises will be collected from “Regular conversation meeting between the National Tax Service and foreign businesses”.

In addition, the “Investigation and Consultation Office” will post international taxation personnel that will handle bottlenecks during the taxation businesses for foreign enterprises. To establish a fair and transparent taxation investigation system without distinction of domestic and foreign enterprises a “Business Affairs Inquiry System” will be enforced.
