Aiming for high value-added, space-age product exhibition and convention center

On May 21, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the KINTEX (Korea International Exhibition Center) on the 760,000 square meter site in Daehwa-dong, Goyang. Many dignitaries, including Gyeonggi Province Governor Sohn Hak-gyu, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Council Chairman Hong Yeong-gi, Goyang City Mayor Kang Hyun-suk, KOTRA President Oh Yeong-gyo, MOCIE Minister Yun Jin-sik etc, and 1,000 local inhabitants were present at the ceremony.

The Phase-I work will be comprised of building 56,000 square meter exhibition facilities and ancillary facilities on the 241,320 square meter site by March 2005. With the ensuing Phase-II and III, the largest exhibition complex in Asia will be completed by 2013.
