Under the joint auspices of the Gyeonggi Province and the Korean Information Service, the symposium on ‘Gyeonggi Province’s Role to Materialize Economic Prosperity in Northeast Asia’ was successfully held in the International Conference Hall in Gyeonggi-do Culture and Art Center on the 24th.
Along with the 31 people from the Gyeonggi Province Citizen Committee, NGO group officials, residents and public service personnel, Professor Yong-gil Choi from Kyonggki University and Doctor Heung-shik Kim from Kyonggi Research Institute has participated as speakers.
Jong-rye Geum, member of the Gyeonggi Province Assembly, Il-gyu Jo, member of the Gyeonggi Province Citizen Committee, Seung-suk Jang, vice-chairman of the Kyonggki Federation of Economic Organization, Geo-sung Kim, secretary general of the Transparency International and Heung-suk Park, chief editor of the Kyeong Gi Ilbo has also attended as debaters and Byeong-yong Ahn from the Citizen Public Relations Committee was the master of the symposium.
The second announcer, Heung-shik Kim from Kyonggi Research Institute has presented a plan of ‘starting development and preparations of areas that can be specified as free economic districts such as Pyongtaek and overcome the weak points of free economic districts focused of foreign enterprises by upbringing industrial clusters and putting knowledge to practical use with help achieve our goal in a comparatively short time.
In addition, Chang-sup Jung, from the administrative office 1, has read out a congratulatory address made out by Hak-kyu Son from the Gyeonggi Province branch office. In this address, the most rational development strategy from our nation is to pursue the development of a well-balanced district by distribution of economical wealth generated by the activating investment on enterprises through easing Gyeonggi Province regulations.
And strengthening district competitiveness and uplifting quality of life for citizens will help constructing Gyeonggi Province has a global city.
From this symposium, the people of Gyeonggi expect that their district will grow to be acknowledged by the world and hope to arouse national sympathy under the motive ‘Gyeonggi Province’s competitiveness is competitiveness of Korea’.
