o Discussions about national competitive power and the role of Metropolitan areas enforced were debated.

Three organizations in the Seoul-Incheon area, The Inchon Ilbo, Incheon Development Institute and Gyeonggi Research Institute co-hosted this seminar on the “Solution and Prospect of the Economic Center of Northeast Asia”. The seminar was held at the Mugungwha Hall in Songdo Beach Hotel on July 14 at 2 p.m.

The role and concept of the Metropolitan area was redefined at the seminar to solve state affair assignments of the new government, the “northeast Asian economic center establishment.” The seminar was arranged to evoke social sympathy for plans to specify economic-free areas to reinforce Korea’s competitive power as the Chinese economy is rapidly growing. About 150 people of officials from various circles and associated organizations, academic personnel and others participated.

The Gyeonggi Research Institute and Incheon Development Institute, each made announcements on the “National Competitive Power and the Role of Metropolitan Areas” and “Visions and Assignments of Incheon Economy-Free Areas.”
