Round table with local authorities from overseas sister-regions

The Gyeonggi provincial government announced on May 13, that key local authorities from overseas sister-regions, America, Russia, etc. will be invited to a round table from May 17 till 20. 

About 20 local authorities from 7 areas are expected to gather to discuss a substantial plan for interchange cooperation among regions. Expected participants are from Florida America, North of England Assembly of Local Authorities (NEA) England, Cataluña Spain, Västmanland Sweden, Ha Tay province Vietnam, Moskva Russia, and Queensland Australia. 

This round table will especially be carried forward with a workshop and conference with Gyeonggi Technopark authorities to improve interchange cooperation between sister-regions. 

A variety of discussion subjects such as building a mutual network for continuous interchange between regions, a basis for substantial exchange between industrial high-tech research institutions, and a presentation on the vision of the development of knowledge industry and international exchange in Gyeonggi-do, will be discussed during the round table. 

The Gyeonggi Small & Medium Business Center will be holding a workshop for participating authorities to update information between sisterhood regions. 

Through an invitational meeting with local officials from overseas technoparks will be held by the Gyeonggi Technopark. Present state of technoparks, management, interchange cases and other presentations will be introduced under a theme of “Local technology innovation networking strategy through Int’l cooperation”. 

An official from the Gyeonggi provincial government remarked, “The round table meeting will be essential in building cooperation networks between regions and to shape a program to enhance cooperative exchange with local authorities assembled in Gyeonggi-do.” 

This round table meeting with local authorities is expected to bear a part in materializing Gyeonggi-do’s administrative aim, “Gyeonggi Province: A Global Initiative”.
