The Korea Ceramic Foundation hosted the 2nd Yeoju Artists’ Flea Market Special Exhibition Artists Make Flowers Bloom in Yeoju at the Yeoju World Ceramic Livingware Gallery until August 23.

The Yeoju Artists’ Flea Market is held to foster cultural communication between the public and local handcraft artists. Since the flea market was first launched in June 2017, it has been taking place at Yeoju Dojasesang on the third weekend of each month. During the flea market, approximately 20 booths are set up so that local artists of Yeoju can present a wide range of craftworks such as ceramics, glass craft, metalworking, traditional calligraphy engraving, leather craft, quilts, boudoir craft, beads, paintings and woodcraft.

This special exhibition presents approximately 100 works by 16 artists: Gang Sun (traditional knots), Gwon Ju-hui (quilts and dolls), Kim Gyeong-su (metalwork), Kim Sang-beom (glass ceramics), Kim Suk-ja (boudoir craft), Kim Yeong-ae (paper string craft and beads), Min Byeong-hui (boudoir craft and embroidery), Park Gyeong-su (woodcraft), Park Chun-su (calligraphy carving and metalwork), Yu Gyeong-sun (Western paintings and knitting), Lee Pil-ran (ceramic dolls), Lee Pil-jae (leather craft), Jo Jun-gyeong (woodcraft), Choi Hyeon-suk (knitting), Han Gi-man (Buddhism and woodcraft), and Han yeon-ok (Korean paintings and ceramics).

Unlike the first exhibition, the second exhibition presents a much wider range of works made by flea market member artists from other areas as well as local artists in Yeoju.

The Korea Ceramic Foundation is also hosting the special ceramics exhibition Making Colors on the second floor of the Yeoju World Ceramic Livingware Gallery. Works by four artists (Song Jji-yun, Lee Dong-ha, Lee Heul-gi and Go U-jeong) presenting four different colors are on display until November 29.
