Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Content Agency are recruiting participants until July 2 for the Gyeonggi VR/AR Creation Audition to be held on July 13 to 14 at the Pangyo Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation.
This year, a total of 28 teams will be selected, including 20 teams in the idea planning category, 5 teams in the commercialization category, and 3 teams in the public project (designated project) category.
The criteria for the selection are as follows: values of follow-up investment and potential for global advancement; originality of technology; excellence of business capability and human resources.
The 25 partners (HTC VIVE, SparkLabs, etc.) from the Global Alliance for Next Reality Industry, which was established in April to foster the VR/AR industry, will participate in the audition as judges and mentors.
The 28 selected teams will receive a minimum of KRW 20 million and up to KRW 200 million for each phase of growth in the six months of the first Creation Audition program.
Gyeonggi Province plans to provide KRW 20 million for each of the 20 selected teams in the idea planning category; KRW 100 million for each of the five selected teams in the commercialization category; and KRW 200 million for each of the three selected teams in the public project category.
In addition, the teams will be provided with a 6-month comprehensive start-up training program including residency in the Gyeonggi Cultural Creation Hub (Pangyo and Gwanggyo), technology/distribution/marketing consulting, and testbed space and equipment support.
