Detail View

A pair of weeping red pines which are estimated to be about 300 years old stand side by side on the slope of a low hill. They look as if they are embracing each other. They look like one tree from a distance. Furthermore, they present a beautiful shape that looks as if they are running along the slope when they are seen from the north or the south.
The taller pine is 6.9m high, 3.33m in circumference, 15.8m wide (east to west) and 23.7m wide (south to north). The smaller one is 6.9m high, 1.7m in circumference, 11.1m wide (east to west) and 11.7m wide (south to north). In particular, while the tree is 6.9m high, the greatest length including branches is 23.7m east to west. Unlike other pine trees that grow straight up, they are characterized by growing sidewya=s, parallel to the ground like a umbrella.
